Good to know about Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport.

Since late 2023 the airport has operated two terminals with separate roles: the renovated Terminal 1 handles all arrivals, domestic and international, while Terminal 2 handles departures, with a separate boarding lounge for domestic flights. This reorganisation raised capacity to around 2.3 million passengers a year; the airport handled 2.8 million in 2025. A new terminal designed for 7 million passengers is under construction, with completion scheduled for June 2029.

Traffic is overwhelmingly international: 92% of passengers in the first half of 2026. Spain is the leading country served, with several daily flights to Madrid and Barcelona, ahead of France. Ryanair opened a base here in 2024, alongside Air Arabia Maroc and Royal Air Maroc. Summer brings the peaks: 13,309 passengers in a single day in summer 2026.

In town, Tanger-Ville station is the terminus of the Al Boraq high-speed line: around 1 hr 20 to Rabat and 2 hrs 10 to Casablanca. The port of Tanger Med, east of the city, is the other main gateway to northern Morocco, particularly during the summer return season.
