Reduced mobility, wheelchair, elderly parents: arriving at a Moroccan airport

A traveller with reduced mobility arriving in Morocco can use two separate services: the airline's assistance, requested from the airline at least 48 hours before departure (this is what Royal Air Maroc and easyJet ask), and an escorted welcome such as our Fast Track Premium, where an agent meets the traveller as they leave the aircraft and stays with them through the formalities. For our Fast Track, you state the need (wheelchair, walking assistance) when booking, and we confirm availability before the flight.

The price. Fast Track Premium: 200 EUR per adult, companions too, 100 EUR aged 2 to 12, free under 2, the same at all six of our airports, on arrival or departure. Private transfer: from 45 EUR per vehicle from Marrakech airport to the Medina, Gueliz or Hivernage. Book at least 48 hours before the flight. Book Fast Track on arrival, or call +33 6 25 06 27 18 to describe the need.

Two different services, booked with two different providers

If you are organising your parents' arrival from home, the first thing to know is that nobody does everything: each service is requested from its own provider.

Our Fast Track does not replace the airline's assistance, and it is not a medical service: it is a welcome and escort service inside the terminal. If your parent needs a wheelchair to leave the aircraft, the request to the airline remains the first step.

What airlines and authorities say

The rules come from airlines and authorities, not from us. This is what the official sources say, as consulted on 23 October 2026.

Royal Air Maroc, Morocco's national airline, asks for wheelchair assistance to be requested at least 48 hours before departure, through the special services form on its website, its call centre or at the check-in desk. It uses three levels:

  • WCHR (ramp): the passenger can walk in the cabin and manage the aircraft stairs alone;
  • WCHS (steps): the passenger can walk in the cabin but cannot manage stairs;
  • WCHC (cabin): the passenger needs help with every movement.

The number of WCHS and WCHC passengers is capped per aircraft type, which is a good reason to ask early. Royal Air Maroc carries up to two mobility aids free of charge, and says it can assist passengers on arrival from the aircraft to their pick-up point. It advises arriving at least 3 hours before the flight and, when departing from Casablanca Mohammed V, going to the PHMR desk in Terminal 1.

easyJet asks passengers to state their assistance needs as early as possible and no later than 48 hours before travel, carries up to two mobility aids free of charge, and recommends travelling with a companion when the passenger needs help eating and drinking, with personal care, using the toilet or taking medication, which its cabin crew cannot provide. One point that matters for Morocco: easyJet does not accept assistance dogs on flights to or from Morocco, because of local customs regulations.

The European Union (Your Europe portal, last checked 15 September 2026) states that a person with a disability or reduced mobility is entitled to free assistance when flying, and that it is best to contact the airline, ticket seller or tour operator at least 48 hours before departure.

The UK Civil Aviation Authority says this entitlement applies when flying from a UK airport on any airline, or to a UK airport on a UK or EU airline, and that not all countries offer assisted travel.

In practice: make the request with the airline operating the flight, when you buy the ticket or at least 48 hours before, give the right level (WCHR, WCHS or WCHC), and describe the wheelchair if the traveller is bringing their own.

What our Fast Track does for a traveller with reduced mobility

The service is the same for every client; the difference is that you describe the need in advance. On arrival:

  1. Before landing, you receive the agent's name and the meeting point in writing. The flight is tracked: the actual landing time counts, with no surcharge.
  2. At the aircraft exit, the agent is waiting with a sign in the booking name.
  3. At passport control, the agent takes the traveller to the checks and directs them to the priority lane when it is open. The traveller hands over their own documents.
  4. At customs, the agent stays with them.
  5. In the arrivals hall, the agent hands the traveller over to their chauffeur, whom they have alerted, or walks with them to the exit.

Wheelchair, walking assistance: state the need when booking, in the message or by phone. We confirm availability before the flight.

What Fast Track does not do: it does not remove any formality, does not guarantee any processing time (the priority lane depends on the airport and the hour) and does not change any airport rule.

For an elderly traveller, the minutes are not always the issue: at Marrakech Menara, the average arrival wait at passport control was 6.86 minutes in the first half of 2026, according to Airports of Morocco. What weighs more is standing when several flights arrive together, the walking distances, finding the way in a busy terminal, and locating a driver in the hall. An agent at the aircraft door and a chauffeur already alerted answer exactly that.

Booking on behalf of your parents

You can book and pay for your parents from home. A few practical points:

  • One booking per flight. Arrival and departure are booked separately, each with its own flight number, at the same price.
  • Add the transfer. If you choose "Both" on the Book page, the agent alerts the chauffeur directly, even if the flight is late. The transfer is priced per vehicle, for the whole party, and luggage is loaded and unloaded by the chauffeur. Vehicles and how prices are calculated: private airport transfers in Morocco.
  • Riads in the Medina. The chauffeur drops off at the nearest point a car can reach. For a traveller who walks with difficulty, tell the riad in advance: most send someone to help with the bags.
  • Departure. On the way home, the agent waits at the drop-off point and escorts the traveller through check-in, security and police checks, to the departure lounge. The traveller then boards at the time set by the airline, and airline assistance is requested separately, as on the way out. The departure steps at Marrakech are set out in our guide to departing from Marrakech airport.
  • Payment and cancellation. Full payment by card in euros; amounts in pounds or dollars on the English site are for reference only. Free cancellation more than 7 days before the flight; then 50% of the price up to 72 hours before, then 100%. Full refund if the airline cancels the flight.

At six airports

The same service, at the same price, is available at six airports: Marrakech Menara, Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat-Salé, Tangier Ibn Battouta, Fez-Saïss and Agadir Al Massira. No others. Details for each airport are on our page on airport fast track in Morocco.

All transfers start or end in Marrakech, including from these six airports: for example from Casablanca Mohammed V to Marrakech, from 258 EUR per vehicle.

Book

Book Fast Track on arrival, then describe the need (wheelchair, walking assistance) in the message. At least 48 hours before the flight. To talk it through first: +33 6 25 06 27 18, by phone or WhatsApp, in English or French, every day.
