# Private transfer from Marrakech: distances, driving times and prices to Essaouira, Casablanca, Agafay and Rabat

Depending on the page, Casablanca is 130 km or 240 km from Marrakech, and Essaouira 177 km or 191 km. Here are the figures from our pricing tool, measured by road from our base in Gueliz and from the airport, with prices per vehicle and how to read them.

## Why distances differ from one website to another

Three things change the figure, without either one being wrong: the starting point, the arrival point and how the distance is measured. From Jemaa el-Fna square, from Gueliz or from the airport, the count does not start at the same place. Casablanca means either the city centre (240 km by road from Gueliz) or Mohammed V airport (226 km), which lies south of the city.

The third cause is the most misleading: the straight-line distance. Between Gueliz and central Casablanca, it is 221 km; by road, 240 km. A figure of 130 km, which sometimes appears, therefore matches no possible journey: it is shorter than the straight line between the two cities. For Essaouira, the straight line is 167 km and the road 182 km from Gueliz, 185 km from the airport.

For a transfer, only the road distance from your address matters: it is what the vehicle drives, and it is what we give here.

## How much time to allow

The times above are calculated driving times, without stops or traffic. On the road, allow more: depending on the time of day when entering the large cities, and for a break on long journeys. If you have a train, a flight or an appointment on arrival, keep a margin.

- Agafay desert: 33 min from Gueliz, 28 min from the airport. The last part is on a track, and the camps are spread out: the time depends on the camp.
- Essaouira: 2 hr 37 from Gueliz, 2 hr 43 from the airport.
- Casablanca: 2 hr 47 to the centre, 2 hr 37 to Mohammed V airport, from Gueliz.
- Rabat: 3 hr 36 to the centre, 3 hr 50 to Rabat-Sale airport, from Gueliz.

## Prices per vehicle

The price of a transfer is per vehicle, not per person: it is the same for one traveller or for seven in a minivan. The table gives the one-way price, in euros (payment is made in euros), and in dirhams, the reference currency of our price list.

- Any tolls on the agreed route are included. Not included: stops not planned at booking, tolls outside the agreed route, personal expenses and tips.
- Rabat: the price is the same for the city centre and for Rabat-Sale airport. Casablanca: Mohammed V airport and the city centre each have their own price (by minivan, 258 EUR for the airport, 288 EUR for the city centre).
- Agafay desert: the Mercedes V-Class is not offered there. From Marrakech, the price is the one in the table, whatever the address of the camp.
- More than 7 travellers: a minibus (8 to 16 travellers) or two vehicles. The booking page shows the possible combinations for your group, with their price.

## Same-day return

For a day in Essaouira, Casablanca, Rabat or the Agafay desert, the chauffeur can wait for you there and bring you back the same day. The return must take place no more than 12 hours after pick-up, and no later than 20:00. The day rate then applies, instead of two journeys.
